How Do I Make Changes to My Vehicle Registration in Ireland?

All changes to registration information in Ireland are handled by the Department of Transport.

The way you make these changes will differ depending on the age of the vehicle you are registered as the owner of.

Pre-1993 Vehicles

To change owner details (such as name or address) for pre-1993 vehicles, you should use form RF100A, available from motor tax offices, or a Change of Vehicle Particulars form (form RF111) that is available from your nearest motor tax office, public libraries, and garda stations.

You do not need to complete the motor tax renewal details part of the form.

Post-1993 Vehicles

To change owner details (such as name or address) for post-1993 vehicles, you should use the Vehicle Licensing Certificate or Registration Certificate that you were awarded upon purchase of the vehicle and send it to the driver and vehicle licensing computer services division at:

Department of Transport, Shannon Town Centre, Shannon, Co. Clare

If you do not have the Vehicle Licensing Certificate or Registration Certificate, or if you have any questions or queries, all further advice and information can be found by contacting the Department of Transport either by telephone or email:

Email: motortax@transport.gov.ie

Phone number: 0818 411 412
